Custom Iconography
After validating the core structure with the low-fidelity prototype, the next step was to develop a complete, high-fidelity design and component library.
UI Components and Visual System: I designed a comprehensive set of reusable UI components and defined a clear visual language for the platform. The design focused on accessibility and creating a clean, data-rich interface that would perform well in a complex operational environment.
Data-Driven Iconography: My initial usability testing revealed that operators often misread the platform's existing icons, increasing the risk of errors when configuring different transformer types. To solve this critical issue, I designed a completely new custom iconography system. The goal was to create icons with high legibility and immediate recognizability, making sure users could distinguish functions and equipment types at a glance to reduce cognitive load and prevent mistakes.
